QIGONG

Shaolin martial arts are not only dynamism, bursting power and being martial. Becoming aware of one's vital energy in order to preserve and improve health has always been a very important aspect in the tradition of such arts.
Qigong means "growing one's inner energy" or "working on one's own energy". It is a technique which is employed in Traditional Chinese Medicine and aimed at facilitating the circulation of the vital energy, Qi, but also at nourishing it, so that to achieve a perfectly balanced psychophysical wellness. Moreover, working on one's own inner energy has a strong preventing action against all illnesses, especially the ones due to the immune system weakening.
Qigong is performed through a kind of soft gymnastics made up of a set of ancient movement and breathing techniques; these allow the practitioner to become aware of the vital energy and to employ it so that to loosen, empower and guide such energy through the meridians covering all over our body - as traditional Chinese medicine teaches us. The deriving relaxation helps to loosen and erase the accumulated tension.
Qigong helps to keep the harmony and balance of our physical and psychic body.
